How To Stop Divorce And Save Your Relationship Tips

How To Stop Divorce And Save Your Relationship Tips

Hey guys,

Are you asking yourself, how to stop divorce and save your relationship? Here's some tips you might want to read through before you decide to do anything that might jeopardize your chance of getting back together with the one you love. Continue reading below..

Getting married is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives, and it usually is. However, we often go into marriage thinking that everything is going to be wonderful and that our love for one another will only grow stronger. It may even seem that way at first, but then reality sets in as time goes on. Then...all of sudden you find out your spouse wants a divorce! What happened? Whatever it was, all you want to know right now is how to stop divorce. It won't be easy, but it is possible to patch things up in most cases.

When it comes to stopping a divorce, you have to convince your spouse to give the marriage another chance, right? That only makes sense. But the problem is that such an approach doesn't really work. Your spouse has already made the decision to split up, and the more you push the idea of staying together, the more they will pull away. You obviously don't want that to happen. As you will see, there is a better way.

Tips #1 - Accept The Fact

The first thing to do is accept the fact that they want a divorce. Don't be in denial, and don't pretend like it will just get better on its own. Be calm and let them know that you don't want a divorce but understand that things are not going as good as they could be. In other words, try to be as understanding of your spouse's feelings as you can and listen to what they have to say. Don't get angry, and don't use your emotions to manipulate them. Your goal is to start an open discussion with your spouse.

Tips #2 - Don't Try To Convince

Do not try to convince them of anything at this point. If you do, they will only see it as you trying to stop divorce. Yes, that's what you are doing, but your spouse will only become more stubborn about wanting a divorce if they know what you're up to. So, focus on trying to see where your spouse is coming from.

Tips #3 - Agree With Them

Once you understand their reasons for wanting a divorce, agree with them. Yes, agree with them. This will put them more at ease, and it shows that you are taking their concerns seriously. This is like having your foot in the door. This alone may be enough to make them reconsider. If not, that's okay, there are still some things you can do.

Tips #4 - Let Them Think It Over

If the divorce papers have not been filed, then you have an even better chance to stop divorce. After the two of you have talked, give your spouse some time to think things over. Don't pester them, and don't ask them, "so do you still want a divorce?" If they still don't want to work things out then you can always propose a trial separation as a last resort. This may not be the best solution, but there is always a chance that your spouse will change their mind once they are on their own.

These are some of the tips you can follow if you want to stop divorce and save your relationship. If you're interested to learn more, then I recommend that you download and read through the book, "Magic of Making Up" by T.W. Jackson. How To Stop A Divorce - If Only You Knew

How To Stop A Divorce - If Only You Knew

Hey guys,

Having trouble with your marriage? Wanna learn how to stop a divorce before it happen? Here's some quick tips you can take note of before you try to save your marriage. Read on..

A break up is a tough thing to go through when you are dating. But when you are married, a break up is much more than just a break up...it's a divorce. When this happens it's quite common for one of the spouses to want to know how to stop a divorce. With that in mind, here are some things to help you do that.

Does The Marriage Deserve Saving?

Before you actually try to stop your divorce, you need to ask yourself if it's really the right thing to do. Perhaps you still love your spouse and you would like to make things work. There's nothing wrong with feeling that way. However, it's in your best interest to take plenty of time to think things through. Why do you really want to stop the divorce? Is it because you are in love, or is it because you feel more secure being married? The main thing is to be honest with yourself, regardless of where that honesty leads.

The Reason

From here on we will assume that you have the right motivations for wanting to stop your divorce. If you have only been threatened with divorce, try to find out how serious the threat is. That's not to downplay it as an idle threat. Any time the D-word is brought up, it should be taken seriously. At the same time, sometimes people get frustrated in the heat of an argument and say they want a divorce. But deep down, what they really meant is that they don't know what else to say and they just want to be away from you until you both calm down.

So, take some time to find out what's really going on. If your spouse still says they want a divorce even when you are not mad at each other, then you need to start taking action right away. Whatever you do, don't get mad. Treat it in as calm of a manner as possible and find out what is at the root of them wanting to be separated.

Time For Change

Once you know why they want a divorce, you will be in a better position to stop a divorce from happening. However, you also need to ask yourself what changes will have to be made to make things work, and if you will be willing and able to make those changes.

Changes are always hard but if you really want to save your marriage then it's imperative that you try. If not only to save your marriage.

Whatever It Takes

Now, what if your spouse has already seen a lawyer to start divorce proceedings against you? This will make things that much harder, but it's still possible to stop a divorce even after the papers have been filed. You will need to be at the top of your game and ready to do some serious work. However, if you really want to be with your spouse and restore your marriage, then doing whatever it takes is what you'll have to do.

These things are never easy, but don't lose hope. Total honesty, being open and making the needed changes will give you the best chance to stop a divorce. Saving a broken marriage is not always easy but if you really think the marriage is worth saving then by all means.

If you want more in-depth reading on how to save a marriage then grab yourself a copy of "Magic of Making Up" by T.W. Jackson. Marriage Tips - Don't Let It End Stop My Divorce

Marriage Tips - Don't Let It End Stop My Divorce

Hey guys,

If you are going through that terrible time when your love feels like it is coming to an end and you find yourself pleading, "Someone, please stop my divorce!" you aren't alone. There are many who have gone through it and saved their marriage and plenty who didn't but found themselves happy again afterward. There are things that you can do to help stop a divorce or correct problems before they get to that point.

Here's some marriage tips you might want to look at below:

Prepare Yourself Mentally

First realize, though, that as much as you may want to save your relationship you may not be able to. Make sure that you prepare yourself mentally for any possible outcome. This isn't thinking pessimistically, it is being realistic which is what you need to be.

Seek Out Marriage Counselors

Make use of family therapy or seek out marriage counselors. They have been well trained and have lots of experience helping people go through these times. Even if there is adultery involved, they will be able to help. Many marriages have been brought back from the edge because of counseling and therapy.

They are accustomed to dealing with infidelity between spouses, depression, or any other things that stress a relationship to the point of divorce. It is therefore good for your marriage to get couples counseling at the earlier stage before it get worse.

Don't Argue

Marriage counseling doesn't have to be expensive, there are plenty of good choices for you to use to get good
relationship advice before you see a divorce lawyer. One thing that you can learn not to do that may help stop your divorce before you ever get an attorney involved is don't argue.

Arguing will only make the situation worse. You can try calling it reasoning or what ever but the truth is you are trying to force them to feel differently than they do. If you are serious and you want to "stop my divorce" then realize that your battle is against your separation, not your spouse.

The more you argue with them and try to point out where they are wrong the more they will be wrong in your mind. Don't try to defend yourself. You may be right, but don't try to convince them of that. Find the truth in their argument and agree with that.

The more you can agree with the things they say, the more they will be right. This will only make them see that you are willing to do what you want them to do, see your side of the story. If you are willing to be honest and accept what they are trying to say then they will more likely be open to listening to your side.

Start Action On It

Marriage counseling is great at helping you understand how to communicate better if you really want to "stop my divorce." This is only one part of the things that you can do to help when you are wanting someone to help you "stop my divorce". Quit talking about it and start acting on it.

Your marriage will only have a chance to survive if you are willing to act.

Save My Marriage Today - Marriage Problem Advice

Save My Marriage Today - Marriage Problem Advice

Communication breakdown

It happens to the best of us. Communication is such a fickle thing, and the lines of communication can become blurred every so often, especially when feelings are involved. Even those who think that they are immune to the confusion of conflict can find themselves drawn into a communication breakdown when they least expect it, and chaos ensues.

This happened to me on the weekend, and until to be quite honest, it took me by surprise. Even those of us who are better equipped than many others are not immune. My partner told me something that really hurt my feelings, and I lashed back in defense. It was a silly argument, over something as simple as a misplaced bottle of aftershave. But to me, it represented something much deeper, that had been simmering away for a couple of weeks. I get frustrated at having to search for something when it is not where I expect it to be. Worse still when my partner has shifted it and I don’t know the first place to begin searching.

Aftershave, needles and thread, car keys, a Tupperware container to store my baking soda in, covers for our outdoor chairs, all were examples of instances where I had to turn the house upside-down. A simple answer from my partner when these things were shifted would have saved me a lot of time and frustration. And the answer I got? "You need to open your eyes and organize yourself better"

I was gutted. When I come home from work I exercise the dog and cook dinner so that it is on the table by the time my partner gets home. The house is always spotless and warm, as I’m very conscious of coming home to a tidy environment. I see this as a fundamental part of my role in coming home first, and it takes a lot of my time. To imply that I have the time to "organize yourself better" really hurt.

I don’t expect praise, but I did hope that my efforts were recognized. I got told that "I don’t expect you to cook my dinner every night" was interpreted by me as ingratitude, and hurt me even more.

So where to from here? My partner felt guilty at coming home every night to the perfect household, whereas I felt guilty if it wasn’t perfect. It was never about me trying to make him feel guilty, but it seems it did. And this is where the communication fell down. He misinterpreted my efforts, and I misinterpreted his response.

Communication, communication, communication. I need for my partner to keep me informed of where things move to. I need to be informed. I need to voice my frustration before it gets to boiling point. We both need to talk about our feelings more, and how each of our contributions to our home and our relationship make us feel, and how we interpret each others contributions. It is not a competition, but for many couples it feels like it.

When people feel guilt or stress, it leads them to act funny ways. Often stress and guilt are barriers to communication. The key to overcoming them is to recognize what it is, and have the courage to talk about it. You might be able to do it as a couple, or you might want the help of a friend who can listen to the way you are communicating with each other and offer insights and advice.

We got it sorted out, and kissed and hugged. It wouldn’t hurt so much if I didn’t feel such love at the same time. But it served as a good reminder to me. Sometimes you get so wrapped up in your own emotions that you forget to think of the other person. You also need to entertain the possibility that you are misinterpreting each other. Talking about it is the way to expose the miscommunication and let the healing begin.

A good lesson to learn, even for the experts…
