It's a fact of life: most of us will, at one point or another, break up with somebody we love. Break ups are sort of strange. Whereas other things we do in life become easier the more we do them, that's not the case with breaking up. No matter how many times you've done it in the past, each break up is at least as difficult as any previous ones you've experienced. Another fact of life is that after a break up people will want to get their ex back.

The majority of relationships follow a pattern. Everything is great when you first meet. Then you get comfortable with each other, making some adjustments to get along. Then those things you didn't notice at first start to become amplified, leading to arguments.

The saying, "familiarity breeds contempt" applies in such cases. It takes effort to accept each other for who you are. That's how to make a relationship work. But, even if you are doing your best, your partner may want to break up. Here are a few things you can do to win back your ex if the worst should happen.

Apologize. This is a difficult step for some people. Either they don't think they did anything wrong, or they don't know what they specifically did that was wrong. Before apologizing you need to know what you did, and why it was wrong. Also, be careful that your sincere apology doesn't lead to an argument. Be honest, be humble.

Talk. As soon as your ex is ready to discuss things, you should start talking. Do not force this on your ex, that won't work. Again, be careful that the things you talk about don't end up in an argument. Stay alert as to how the discussion is going and change course if you have to.

Remain calm and stick to the facts. Do not, under any circumstances, start blaming your ex for anything. That's a sure way to stay broken up. You are simply talking things over like to calm, cool and collected adults.

Give them some space. Sure, the first thing you want to do is see them again, to plead your case, to talk things over; but they also need to be receptive to seeing you again. People deal with things at a different rate, and your ex may not be as far along as you are. this isn't a bad thing. It just means they need some more space and time to sort things out before they are ready to talk to you. Give them that space. You will know when the time is right by how willing they are to talk to you.

As the song says, "breaking up is hard to do". It isn't easy. And the happier you were together, the harder it will be to be apart. Once you know the right way to approach things, the better your odds will be to get your ex back and to be happier than ever.

Do you say, “I’m still in love with my ex!” and wonder how you’re going to get through the hours, let alone the next days? It’s common to feel completely overwhelmed after a breakup, especially if you’re not the one who wanted to end it. And if you sit around thinking, “I’m still in love with my ex,” you’re only making it harder on yourself.

Of course, if you’re really in love with your ex you could make an effort to get back together. There’s no guarantee that anything you do will get you back together, but you could still try. Often, being genuine and just making it really clear that you don’t want to lose your ex will be enough to move them to give it another chance.

If cheating was involved in some capacity, then their wanting to come back is less likely, but it’s still possible. If you cheated, you might think it’s going to be harder to get them back.

But if they cheated and that relationship has ended, it’s still harder to get them back once they’ve been with someone else. And it’s going to take a long time for you to start trusting each other again.

It’s important for you to decide that if your ex gives in and comes back, how will you keep from falling into the same patterns the next time around? You can say, “I’m still in love with my ex!” until you’re blue in the face, and that won’t chance whether or not you have problems in the future.

It’s really easy to be in love with someone. But making a relationship work is tough and time consuming. And you have the added difficulty of overcoming a break up. You can try to convince your ex that if you get back together you’ll change your ways, and maybe they’ll believe you.

But the best thing you can do is simply show that you’ve changed your ways, without saying much about it. Actions really do almost always speak much louder than words, so the things you do are going to be noticed more by your ex than the things you say.

It’s important to say the right things, too. But it’s more important to do the right things. If you’re really still in love with them then you should want to change your actions dramatically, at least right now. When you think your actions might make a difference it’s easy to feel like you can change many things about yourself.

What you have to determine is whether or not you can really follow through with it. There’s no point in making promises to your ex that you’re not going to be able to keep.

If you have any doubt that you’ll want to make the changes that you or your ex feel are necessary, then you shouldn’t promise that you’ll make them. Though you say, “I’m still in love with my ex, “ you have to remember than only lasting changes will matter, not just a fast change to win them back.

You'll have to be honest with yourself and your ex, are you willing to make the changes and sacrifices needed to heal back the wounds of the breakup?

You thought the grass was greener on the other side and then realized that it was an illusion. Oh yeah, it happened to us all. You realize that the love you had a long time ago may be what you are missing. Here are some things to think about when you want to win back lost love from long ago.

First, make sure that there is nothing in your life right now that you may be missing out on. The mistake you may have made in the past was that you didn’t take advantage of the opportunities that you had at that moment. Make sure that you don’t make the same mistake again by missing out on something potentially good.

If you hate looking back and thinking what you may have missed out on now, try to prevent it from happening again. It’s better having love now and to not have to try and win back lost love later because you were too blind. You were too selfish and only thinking about your own happiness instead of your partner.

Second, realize that they may have moved on. Just because you are discontent with your present and are longing for what could have been with the love from long ago doesn’t mean that they are. You could cause yourself and them more harm than good. If they are happy and content, let them be. If they have moved on, it’s a good sign that you should and not be concerned with winning back lost love.

Third, understand that people change over time. Things may have happened in both of your lives that may have made you very different people. Don’t do this to try and relive what once was. Try to win back lost love because you believe that your future will be better than your present and even your past with this person. Accept that the past, is the past. It's always good to start afresh.

Fourth, start off slowly. If they aren’t expecting you to come calling and all of the sudden you are there constantly it may smell of desperation. Take the time to get to know them again and for them to get to know you.

You lost it because one or both of you didn’t make the most of chances you were given and you are doomed to repeat it if you don’t take advantage of today. How to save marriage from failing after a disastrous and catastrophic event has taken place may seem like a hard thing to do, but it can be done. There are many times when something horrible has happened in the life of a couple that the stress ends up being too much to bear. These are times it is important to know how to save marriage.

The need to know how to save marriage can come as a result of something in the marriage or relationship falling apart as the two struggle to deal with what has happened. Many times it happens after the death of a loved one or especially a child. Sometimes it will happen after a wreck. ~ Find a reason to laugh again. Watch a silly sitcom on TV or some stupid funny movie. Watch one of those funny home movie shows for some good laughs. Spend time with fun loving people who will help you have a good time with. Laughing will make you feel better and gives you a break from the weight you carry.

When you have suffered greatly, it doesn't mean that the marriage has to come to an end. It can be made stronger if you are serious about finding how to save marriage.
