Why You Must Have a Conversation About Money Before You Move in Together

Why You Must Have a Conversation About Money Before You Move in Together

Why? Shouldn't you be asking that yourself? Money, is one of the important factor of a relationship. Many couples quarrel over money all the time. That's one of the most common reason that can destroy a relationship. You should at least read through this article before making the decision to move in together.

For any couple, moving in together is a big but very natural step of the relationship. It means spending more time together, more privacy and a space of their own. The thought of living with the person one loves is exhilarating but is always tempered by challenges, that can be avoided or dealt with before they rock the relationship.

Of all the issues that may arise in the course of a life together, none causes more strife than money. Despite finances being an integral part of living together, this topic is hardly ever discussed by couples when moving in together. Understandably, it is an awkward and uncomfortable conversation and there is nothing less romantic, but in order to ensure that life together runs smoothly, it is a necessary discomfort. The following are some of the things you must discuss before moving in together.

Debt

Once a couple moves in together, it rarely occurs to them that their previous lives and the decisions they made can have an impact on their new life together. Moving in together makes financial boundaries vague and debt suddenly effects both parties regardless of whose name is attached to it.

In an open discussion about money, debt on either or both sides should be discussed in detail so a to prevent it from becoming a burden and also to chart out a concise financial plan to pay it off so that it does not make future plans difficult or impossible which would only lead to resentment and infighting.

Living Expenses

Half a century ago, there would have been no need for this discussion as it was the man's obligation to provide for the home. This was well understood and the demographics at the time demanded, if not allowed it. Today things are radically different with both men and women carrying their own weight financially which means living expenses will likely be catered for by both parties.

Every couple must, however, build their own financial plan depending on factors like how much each makes. Some may find that combining all expenses and splitting the cost down the middle works while some may decide to assign specific bills to one party such as rent and electricity while the rest are the responsibility of the other. Either way, a plan cannot be put in place without a thorough discussion on finances.

Individual Spending Habits

Consider a couple living together and sharing a joint account or a credit card. It would not be unusual for either of them to spend money in a manner that the other would not approve of. The woman might spend what the man considers too much money on accessories such as handbags and shoes while he on the other hand might spend what she considers an obscene amount of money on sports gear. When there isn’t enough money for all of this, each party will expect that the other will spend less while they likely continue to fund their hobbies and personal interests. This will inevitably cause a rift and even power struggles which can only be avoided if a couple living together discuss finances specifically shared resources.

It is important that limits are set, if the money is shared, while some may prefer to keep separate some of their money for individual spending. Regardless, for the relationship and the life together to survive any quarrels over money, a couple must be willing to have an open and exhaustive talk about money

Money, might not be a problem with either of you right now but, having a clear line about money will help you in the future. So, take heed these advice. For more tips on relationships, I suggest you download and read through the book, Magic of Making Up by T.W. Jackson. Learn Now - 3 Ways to Improve Communication In A Relationship

Learn Now - 3 Ways to Improve Communication In A Relationship

Hey guys,

Looking for tips on advice for relationship? Here's one:

Did you know that most couples nowadays, don't really communicate anymore. Even though, we have all the latest digital tools like smart phones or 'social' websites like Facebook and twitter. In fact, it could actually be more of a distraction then an advantage.

For example, just look around you everyday in your daily commute and you will see everyone looking down at their phones rather then walking and looking up where that someone might just be looking at you. Your partners craving for your attention while you were busy replying a 'whatsapp' message from your friend. This are simple things that destroy communication between your partner more then it adds to it.

Good communication is one of the cornerstones that make up a strong relationship. On the other hand poor communication can lead to a relationship breakdown as partners may find it difficult to ever trust each other.

Not everyone is good at communicating. If you happen to be one of these people, you may find it harder to start and maintain a stable relationship. Good communication skills can also help transform a shaky relationship into a functioning, healthy relationship.

Simple tips and basic communication skills can help you become a good communicator. The following are 3 ways to improve communication and maintain a good relationship.

#1 - Always express yourself freely

To have a good relationship, you must be free with your partner. Being free means you can share anything with him. You can share all the things that bother you, amaze you, please or surprise you. You'll find it's very difficult to maintain a strong relationship with someone you cannot talk to freely.

When you learn to express yourself freely, you will never feel the need to hide something from that person and your partner will also feel more free to share his problems with you.

When you are angry, you should definitely tell him what is making you angry and this will make your partner respect you and your opinion simply because you express yourself freely.

When expressing yourself, remember to say exactly what you mean and feel about something don’t beat around the bush. Be honest and go straight to the point.

#2 - Be a good listener

A good communicator is a good listener as well. Just like you want your partner to listen to your thoughts and feelings, be sure to give that person your full attention when the time comes for you to listen.

Men are considered poor listeners in most relationships but this does not mean that they don’t listen at all. To get someone to really listen to you, you may need to find the right time to start a conversation.

Don’t try to force your partner to listen to you when he's watching his favorite movie or something on ESPN, because he may end up paying more attention to the TV than to you.

By listening to your partner you are giving him a chance to open up and seek solace from you. The last thing you want to do to your partner is ignore him when he's trying to talk to you.

#3 - Build a strong foundation

Without a strong foundation, even the best communicators find it hard to build a close relationship. Strong foundations are based on a number of different things: the way you treat each other, the level of intimacy you share, how well you understand each other and how the two of you manage your relationship problems.

For you to have a strong relationship you must know what makes your partner angry and what makes him happy and how to avoid deliberately aggravating him.

Remember no relationship is complete without intimacy, so it's important that you always create some time for intimacy. Try to strike a balance that takes into account both of your schedules.

Remember that intimacy doesn't always mean sex. Sometimes, it's just as important to spend time snuggling together while watching a movie.

Lastly, don't forget non-verbal communication can be just as important and impacting as the spoken word. You can often communicate just as effectively with a stroke of his face with your hand or a strong, warm embrace.

There you go. 3 ways to improve communication in a relationship. You can use the 3 tips straight away to improve your broken relationship or to build on what you already have. For more practical tips on relationships, I suggest you download and read through the book by T.W. Jackson, "Magic of Making Up".

Are Your Friends Poison to Your Relationship With Him - Really?

Are Your Friends Poison to Your Relationship - Really?

Hey guys,

Are your friends really poison to your relationship? An interesting question. And, the answer is...

Sometimes, friends CAN get in the way of your relationship in a really big and lethal way. It's hard to find balance between life, love, family, and friends. Everyone wants a little bit of your time.

You must work to find that perfect balance without inadvertently placing your relationship on the back burner. Keeping a safe line of demarcation between friends and your lover, can be a crucial secret for long-term success in your relationship and/or marriage. These small changes will make a big difference.

Take note of these 3 tips below that could actually save your relationship.

Tips no. 1 - Stop Telling Your Best Friend Everything

While she is your best friend and you want to share the ups and downs of your life with her, the truth is that she doesn't love your man -- but she does love you. She's going to hold a grudge against him for the things you've told her long after you've kissed, made up, forgiven, and forgotten.

She's going to still be hopping mad at him for some slight that's old news and completely gone with the wind as far as you're concerned. She's going to remind you, constantly about how he isn't good enough for you, doesn't deserve you, and isn't treating you right. The problem is you're eventually going to begin believing her and start carrying grudges of your own.

Tips no. 2 - Put Your Friend after Your Partner

It's true that your friend may have been there for you long before your partner. However, that doesn't change the fact that he needs to come before your friends if you're going to have a successful and long-lasting relationship.

Your relationship needs to be a priority in your life not some afterthought that gets the leftover attention after everyone and everything else has had its share. It's hard to make time for everyone on your list of people to see, but sometimes it's necessary.

Tips no.3 - Show Loyalty to Your Man

If you really want to make a favorable impression with your friend and the man you love, be loyal to him. Don't talk about the negatives around other people. Discuss any problems you have with him and present a wall of solidarity and support to the world. You'll never know how much of a difference it makes to him and how he feels about your relationship.

Incorporate these small changes into your relationship and see for yourself what a difference they make. You'll be surprised at how noticeable the changes in warmth, love, and affection are in the aftermath of a few small adjustments like these.

If you would like to read more on how to improve your relationship, I suggest that you download the book, "Magic of Making Up" by T.W. Jackson. His book have help many couples around the world saved their relationships and it could help in yours too. Grab a copy right now!

Relationship Advice for Men - Its Evolutionary My Dear Man

Relationship Advice for Men - Its Evolutionary My Dear Man

Hey guys,

So much different relationship advice for men is out there that it can be difficult to figure out what really works. So, what do men need to know if they are interested in a more relationship? The most important bit of advice is to look at what women really want, based on their actions, as opposed to assuming what they say is 100% accurate.

The question then becomes one of being able to identify what their actions are. And the best way to do that is to observe the type of men they end up, regardless of what they say they want. While women may say they want a sensitive man with a good sense of humor, and one that listens; they go out with men who aren't sensitive, make plenty of money, dominate conversations, and may or may not be all that funny.

The reason why women do this may surprise you. It's not because they don't know what they really want, it's because they don't know that they know what they really want. Okay, that may sound confusing, but it isn't. What we are talking about is the subconscious mind, and that's where the best relationship advice for men comes from.

It all comes down to one thing: The propagation of the species. This has been the underlying factor since the dawn of humanity, and its power is found in both men and women. While having children with a particular man may be the furthest thing from her mind (as far as she knows), deep down in the subconscious, she is evaluating mates for their ability to be a good father for her potential family.

We then get back to the things women say they want. Does having a good sense of humor mean he will be a strong protector and bread winner for the family? Not really. And it's the sense of security and ability to provide food for the family that the subconscious is most concerned with.

Let's take a quick look at biology to see why this is so important. Men have the ability to reproduce for, in theory, from the onset of puberty until they die; that's a big window of opportunity. On the other hand, women have a much smaller window in which they can viably reproduce. Therefore, women can't afford to gamble, and need a partner that will be able to provide for the long-term.

In today's world, these deep-seated desires manifest themselves in various ways. In past centuries women may have dreamt of marrying royalty, as they were the ultimate providers. Today, princes and kings have been replaced by athletes, celebrities and rock stars. Another bit of evidence is the engagement ring. It not only shows that the man has the ability to provide, but also that he is will to share the fruits of his labor (and you thought it was simply romantic).

So, when it comes to relationship advice for men, don't worry about all the static and conflicting viewpoints. All you really need to do is dig down to the subconscious level to see what women really want, no matter what they think they want.

I suggest, if you really want to read more on this to grab yourself a copy of the book by T.W. Jackson, "Magic of Making Up". His book is full of wisdom for improving your relationships and it's a good resource to have in your arsenal. Download your copy today!

Advice for Relationship - 4 Great Lessons From Relationships Experts

Advice for Relationship - 4 Great Lessons From Relationships Experts

Hello guys,

If you’ve read or listened to relationships experts, you know that some of what they say is just common sense. They tell us things we already know, but they’re great at putting it into words and examples that make things easier to understand. The best relationships experts just know how to communicate (by the way communication is also good in a relationship).

They can take those common sense things and say them in a way that makes you “get it.” Like the concept of what to expect and what to give in a relationship. This is one of the best lessons you can get from relationships experts.

Very often we go along in a relationship and as time goes on we start to take the other person for granted a little bit. We don’t thank them as much, and sometimes we don’t do nice things in return for them quite as much. Obviously, being complacent in a relationship isn't good.

It’s not that we don’t want to, but that we simply forget or think there will be time later. Which could always turn out bad and a little too late. Treat your relationship as precious as you treat your car or your diamond wedding ring. After the relationship hit a rocky period and ended and you’ve gotten back together, remember to be thoughtful and kind becomes very important. Relationships experts stress that as a good way to keep a relationship strong.

A second great lesson from the experts is to do what the other person will appreciate. This is another great common sense lesson that’s all too easy to overlook. It applies to anytime during a relationship but after you’ve gotten back together from a break up or other bad patch it’s even more important.

To do what the other person wants doesn’t mean you should never consider yourself. But you should try to do what appeals to them to show them that you care. If it really makes you happy when your boyfriend helps you wash the dishes, then maybe if you helped him with some housework that would make him feel loved, too. Ever heard of a little kindness goes a long way?

But there may be ways he likes to feel loved that are different. He might be the type of person who likes to hear you say it often, or likes romantic gestures. Even if those things aren’t as important to you, you need to do the things that are special to him or her.

Sometimes we forget that, or we just assume that everyone responds to the same things. But doing what makes the other person feel most special is easy to do, as long as we remind ourselves to do it.

And a lesson that the experts teach that often goes forgotten is respect. Of course, you respect your boyfriend or girlfriend, but does it always show? This is part of taking them for granted but goes beyond not thanking them or returning loving gestures.

Often, the person we’re closest to gets the brunt our worst days. We might be late for something and keep them waiting, or we might just accidentally be inconsiderate and not apologize enough. Take a lesson from the relationships experts and ask yourself if you treat your partner with the same respect you would treat a parents or co-worker.

These are some great relationship advice you can use in your own relationship. If you want to learn more tips then I suggest you download and read through "Magic of Making Up" authored by T.W. Jackson. His is popular and his book have helped many couples around the world make their relationship even better then it was before. Get it now online!

Advice for Relationship - How To Get Your Relationships Needs Met

Advice for Relationship - How To Get Your Relationships Needs Met

Hey guys,

If you can get your relationships needs met, the relationship has a better chance of being long and happy. Not having your needs met is one of the biggest reasons relationships don’t work out. And after a break up, it’s especially important to have your relationships needs met to stay happy and stay together.

The surefire way to get your needs met in a relationship is by making sure the other person knows just what those needs are. You can’t read minds, and you shouldn’t expect your partner to be able to read minds either. He or she wants to make sure your relationships needs are met, so tell them what they are.

At the same time, encourage your partner to tell you the needs he or she feels are important. You might be surprised to learn, if you’ve never had this conversation before, how different your needs might be.

You might feel the need for you partner to tell you he loves you often, so may you do that for him. He no doubt enjoys that, but maybe what he really needs is for you to do quick considerate things to make him feel special. Some people like to be told, and some people like to be shown. Each of us have their own needs anyway.

Simply having a discussion about your relationships needs can strengthen the relationship and make it easier for you to keep each other happy. If you’re uncomfortable having such a frank discussion, you should do it anyway. Telling each other your needs is better than hinting or expecting them to be psychic. It's always good to share your feelings and thoughts as a couple.

You may really need your partner to be more helpful to you. But when it’s time to clean or wash dishes you do them alone, yet again. And instead of simply asking for help or letting him know that it would mean a lot to you if he would do them sometimes or do them with you, you get angry.

You might huff around while you’re doing them, slam a cabinet, or act otherwise put out. This is passive aggressive behavior. You’re trying to manipulate him into helping you by acting that way. It’s much better and healthier to simply ask for help.

Passive aggressive behavior is common in relationships, and it’s a worsening cycle because it doesn’t work. If he does take your hint, it’s only after you’ve acted put upon, angry and resentful. So his doing the dishes might be only to keep you from acting that way.

If you ask for help and explain that it makes you feel good when he wants to help you, then he’s coming at the task from a place of love and helpfulness. He doesn't feel guilted into doing it, so it’s better for everyone. Don't you think so?

This applies to things like showing affection, respecting each other’s feelings, and every aspect of your relationship. When you want something, ask for it, and be prepared to give your partner what he or she asks for to make sure all your relationships needs are met.

These are just some of the tips in how to get your relationships needs met. A good and healthy relationship will last you a lifetime. I suggest you download and read through "Magic of Making Up" authored by T.W. Jackson. His book have helped many others improve their relationships and I'm sure it'll do the same for yours. Relationship Problems - Unhappy Relationship 3 Things You Can Do About It

Relationship Problems - Unhappy Relationship 3 Things You Can Do About It

Hey guys,

Relationship problems and being in an Unhappy relationships are an inevitable part of romance, and their causes are numerous. Sometimes, a commitment is made and that once made, it can be hard to leave an unhappy situation.

You may feel that you have to stay in order to support your loved ones, that you are unable to leave for any number of reasons. You find that you are making a number of excuses to stay in a situation that is not good for you.

If you are facing an unhappy relationship, then there are three things you need to do.

1. Do Nothing

Firstly, you can do nothing and maintain things just as they are. You will continue on your path of misery, those around you will become miserable, and you will continue along this path until you are in the worst of situations.

So why does this situation occur? It is the simplest thing to do. It is easy to not do anything about the situation, and very hard to turn a bad partnership or unhappy relationship around. While it may seem noble, it is a bad decision to try and stay.

2. Fix Things

Out of the three, the other option which involves staying in the relationship is to fix things. This step requires a full commitment, anything less is as bad, if not worse, than trying to stick things out. This step requires that your partner is also committed in full to repair the situation.

This is the most challenging of the situations, but can lead to the best situation. Any changes made here will be lasting and permanent. If your partner is not committed towards the repair of the unhappy relationship, then all attempts to repair things will fail.

3. Leave

The last possibility is to leave. This is also very hard since people will make excuses in order to stay. Sometimes, however, it is a matter of ending the relationship before things become irreparable.

Unhappiness, fighting, depression, and many other factors eventually come out of an unhappy relationship. This will not only bring you and your loved ones great suffering, but it will also negatively affect those around you are well.

You have to overcome everything that is holding you back and take that first step towards resolving the matter. If you need one, you should seek out the aide from a therapist or a coach. Mental hindrances in an unhappy relationship can be taken care of with the help of a therapist.

If you need to work strategies for repairing your situation, then you should instead get a coach, someone who will work with you to develop strategies and get the success you need. An unhappy relationship will mean one of three possibilities.

You will either stay or suffer, you will repair things with your ex, or you will move out and move on. Therapists and coaches provide technical support while your family and friends will provide you with the support network you need when you make decisions.

All it takes is an effort to do what is right for you and your loved ones. I suggest you download and read through Magic of Making Up from T.W. Jackson.
